Hi. I’m Bobbie. Nice to meet you. In the fall of 1987, I went to a gathering because I was invited by my new neighbor in the apartment complex in which we both lived. This neighbor had accidentally received my mail in his mailbox and so decided to be kind and deliver it to me. At that point he invited me to a party he was having at his place. I was reluctant but decided to go. When I entered the room I saw several people I knew from the short time I had lived in South Bend. This made me feel better and less nervous about the whole thing. In the room that evening was Jay Young, my future husband. Little did I know that 29 years later we can say that we have created a life together, complete with a home, five children and lifelong friends.
Here are some of the things that I love and are really important to me.
I love Jesus. He is the reason I live and move. I met him at a young age and decided following him sounded pretty awesome. I have been a Christ follower for almost 35 years and would never choose otherwise. From his birth to dying on the cross to rising from the dead, Jesus is my reason to press on. I’m all in! He has been my hope and my strength through good and bad times. And trust me, there have been plenty of both. I love him and want to be more like him each day, do what he did.
I love my family. Oh what a mix we have. I have five children who all bring such great gifts to our family table. Although three of them are on their own now, my momma heart longs for our family times together. After home schooling for 20 years, there is a definite “empty” when they leave. Cherish your time with your children. My husband has been a great support through the years and would lay down his life for our family. Actually he has laid his life down for us many times .
I love home. I am a farm girl, a homegirl and a momma girl. I remember the days back on my Dad’s farm and the great memories that are imbedded in my soul. I miss those carefree days. Still I celebrate today and all the joys and struggles it brings. God is in it all. I love to be home and enjoy reading, flower gardening, walks down our long lane and dinner with friends.
I love life. I choose to enjoy life; the easy and the hard parts. The hard times are hard but I pray passionately in those times and I get strength from him. I am 53 years young and have taken an interest in my health in the past few years as I maneuver my way through aging. I am committed to living the abundant life that God promises which includes work on my part and a resolve to never give up.
I love essential oils. You can call me an essential oil enthusiast and I would not be offended. The life change I have seen, not only in my own family but in others as well, drives my passion to share with others. Read more about that on my essential oil page.
I love people. Let’s take this life journey together. I want to share with you hope, healing, joy and freedom here at my site and beyond; hope for an abundant life, healing in all aspects, joy as a choice and a result as God works through you and freedom to be who God created you to be! We are made in God’s image and we were made for community. Let’s lock arms and create the best life. We can do this, you and I! Don’t give up. You’ve come so far. We’re never alone. God is cheering you on and so am I.
